Rapid Analyte Measurement Platform or RAMP® is a highly sensitive test used to identify West Nile virus (WNV) in mosquitoes and birds. We utilize this test as it is fast, cost effective and reliable. Our results are shared with the Cook County Health Department and the Illinois Natural History Survey Medical Entomology Laboratory for analysis. This test allows us to quickly and effectively evaluate an area and take action immediately reducing an outbreak of infected mosquitoes with the deadly WNV virus.
