The South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District covers an area of 340 square miles. It includes over 40 square miles of forest preserves and over 50 municipalities. SCCMAD covers all of Cook County South of 87th Street.

It is bordered by Indiana to the East, Will County to the South and West, and 87th street or the Des Plaines River to the North. It includes 10 Townships.

Townships served by the SCCMAD: Bremen, Orland, Bloom, Palos, Calumet, Rich, Hyde Park, Thornton, Lemont and Worth.
