THE 820TH REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SOUTH COOK COUNTY
MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT
HELD MONDAY MARCH 8, 2021.


A Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District was called to order by President Charles Givines, at the District’s Headquarter, 15500 Dixie Highway, Harvey, Illinois on March 8, 2021 via Zoom due to the COVID-19 Pandemic at 4:10 P.M. upon due notice to all members of the time, date, and place of the meeting.

The Board of Trustees of the South Cook County Mosquito Abatement District conducted a regular meeting via ZOOM in accordance with Section 6 of Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order 2020-07 (COVID-19 Executive Order No. 5)

 

The meeting was opened by the President, whereupon Edgar A. Wright from EAW Wealth and Retirement planning gave a presentation to the Board of Trustees regarding information about the SCCMAD Pension Fund.

 

Edgar A. Wright exited the meeting at 4:20 P.M.

 

The minutes of the 819th meeting of the Board of Trustees held on February 8, 2021 were reviewed. The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Miller, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the minutes of the Regular Board Meeting February 8, 2021.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Warner, Stokes, Miller and Givines
Nays: None

 

The monthly report for the Business Manager was presented by SCCMAD employee, Nikki Cody, Business Manager (please see attached reports). The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Stokes, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the March report of the Business Manager including the March Bills list totaling $297,210.77.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Warner, Stokes, Miller and Givines
Nays: None

 

The monthly report for the Operations Superintendent was presented by SCCMAD employee, Janet Rogers, Operations Superintendent (please see attached reports). The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Warner, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the March report of the Operations Superintendent.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Warner, Stokes, Miller and Givines
Nays: None

 

The following motion was made by President Givines, seconded by Trustee Warner, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves the Business Manager and the Operations Superintendent to prepare the Preliminary/Tentative Budget for fiscal year 2021-2022.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Stokes, Warner, and Givines
Nays: None

 

At this point in the meeting, Attorney Meganne Trela gave an update on IMRF to the Board of Trustees.

 

President Givines made a request to the Board to exit out of the 820th Regular Board Meeting and enter into Executive Session at 4:45 p.m. The following motion was made by President Givines and seconded by Trustee Miller, to wit:

BE IT RESOLVED, the Board hereby approves to exit the 820th Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees and enter into Executive Session.

Upon roll call vote:

Yeas: Trustees Stokes, Warner, and Givines
Nays: None

 

Nikki Cody and Aerielle Charles exited the Board Meeting

 

At this time, President Givines made a request to the Board to enter the Regular Board Meeting at 5:35 P.M.

 

Nikki Cody and Aerielle Charles re-entered the Board Room.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

 

The next Board meeting will be held on April 12, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. at the District Headquarters.
